Unbroken Laura Hillenbrand pg. 473

I loved this book. It has been one of my favorite books that I have read this year. At first it was hard to get into, but after a while I couldn’t put the book down. Laura Hillenbrand wrote an amazing book and I hope I can find another book like this one. I have found that I love historical books!

I cried a few times in this book because of the hardships Louie Zamperini went through. There are many facts about World War II that I did not know before this book. I can not imagine being captured by the opposing side. Louie gave me a new hope and I new way to look at life. Louie was in the olympics and survived war and was even lost at sea for a bit. Putting myself into this character I would not have done any of it. Throughout the book, I had to go back and make sure I read some of it correctly. I also think that this shows how much courage soldiers have to fight for their country.

I would recommend this book to people who are looking for a leader to follow. Also if you like fictional historical books I would choose this book.

After I read the book, I watched the movie. It was phenomenal. I am kind of mad that a few things were changed, but overall I loved the overall picture it represented. My favorite part in the movie was when he defied the Japanese solider by not dropping the log. Without reading the book I wouldn’t have understood the movie as much as I did.

Life of Pi Yann Martel pg. 352

This was not my favorite book I have read this year. It took me a while to get into the book and the really goos parts didn’t start until almost half way through the book. I thought that when Pi was first on the boat with the multiple animals it represented his family and other people from the sip. In the end I finally realized that the tiger, Richard Parker, was him all along. They were both courageous and strong in hard times and survived. 

I thought that this book was very similar to Unbroken in ways because first both boys were courageous and had to survive hard times and they both had hope though and thought that they could survive through it also. I am afraid of sharks and being stuck out at sea would scare me. I don’t think that I would be able to survive after the first week. At least Pi had the companion of Richard Parker. I also think that without Richard Parker, Pi would have died sooner. Pi had to take care of someone else's life as well as his own. As Pi was going through some of the things he didI thought that some of it may have been delusions too. What really scares me is how old Pi was. He lost his family and still survived. 

I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to most people because it takes a while to get into it and it is still a pretty slow book throughout the rest of the book too. So if that person doesn’t like slow books this book is for you.

Pep Assemblies

Pep assemblies are so fun at my school although my grade has never won them I think they're still fun to go to so this past assembly was our final spring assembly for our junior year we started off by everyone packing into the gym and passing out everything that they needed so we started off with all the teams of the winter season going up and bringing congratulated him on the things they did and all their accomplishments and what they have coming up if they have anything coming up some of the teams were soccer track speed show choir baseball softball tennis for both boys and girls just a Tonna groups there was also the disability group which one off at because they were going to go to their own Olympic games after that everyone sat down for a 10 to 15 minutes slideshow of pictures showing all the things that it happened in the past year it was so cool see you in Everett want to done although I do wish I were more show choir pictures of Protege in the slideshow because there were none other than that it was great once that was done we have a few announcements and then the color dance team comes out and does a routine now every year something wrong happens and of course this year it was with the color dance team the music stopped all the sudden right in the middle of their performance so later when the music was back on that they restarted their show and it was so cool I love watching that is one my favorite parts next was the teachers dance every year they do a teacher dance my freshman year it was too happy another year which was last year they did uptown funk which is really cool this year they did a teacher dance off they had three different groups the first group was OK the second group was amazing and the third Group bribed everyone by giving away free T-shirts let's just say the second group 11 win which was choreographed by Miss Malone after that the team or groups started where it was freshman sophomores juniors and seniors against each other the first challenge was a tug-of-war now it was first freshman's against seniors which there's not really a big competitive thing there the freshman lost by a lot next was the sophomore and junior tug-of-war and the juniors one that and finally it was juniors again seniors and seniors have weight lifting champions on their side well we the juniors did not but in the end the juniors Ashley one and we got ourselves a point next we had at the team spirit who could ever show the most team spirit one point it was really close but in the end the seniors and the sophomores got a point that's there was also a sign hold up where it had to say something on it and the juniors were so lazy they did nothing so everyone is held up their hands pretending they were holding up a sign while the juniors held up a seven saying that this would be there so there seventh when in a row the sophomores held up if you can read this you're too late and after the freshman hall that nothing the sophomores and seniors both got a point next was the handstand challenge one person from every grade had to go up and hold a handstand the longest the freshman sophomores and juniors and seniors all had a girl go up that was a gymnast the seniors lost very quickly and soon it was just down at the juniors and freshman the junior girl thought that she had to do some specific moose and fellow afterwards cause she couldn't turn in the circle otherwise we would've won the point anyway the freshman want to point another one was a jump rope contest whoever had the coolest moves want to point and there was a senior jump rope first and he had the jump rope in since he was in elementary school so they of course want to point another one was the Rubiks cube one guy did it in seven seconds he was of course a senior and they also on the next one after that it was basically down to the seniors when winning and that and then everyone went back to class it was so fine there was so much confetti and paper and silly string everywhere in the gym I would not want Nick to clean that mess up let me know what your cup assemblies are like what happens in the who usually wins thanks let me know Emily

Parks and Rec.

Parks and Recreation is one of the best TV shows ever there currently seven seasons on Netflix I remained recommend you watching them so it's herself with this woman who is a parks and recreation director who just wants to help the community by adding in parks and just making life better and this woman who is a nurse comes in because her boyfriend down to the pit and hurt himself so this woman goes down there and she tries to fix it up and she she Fallson and it's just not good it's a whole Larios show not one part of it is not funny one of my favorite characters is Ron he has many places that he owns that he actually takes is money and turns it into gold and the berries in various spots in one episode he talks about his well how was just on a piece of paper and all of his money's going to the man who kills them and at the bottom there's this weird language and Ron says that if someone can read that it will be his killer another really funny character is Tom he's at this shorter Asian guy and Leslie things he comes from Indio when he really comes from South Carolina and is Ashley from the US but he always has these big ideas another none of them ever really turn out and then he has his best friend who are is not my favorite character but is OK Ron is also a woodworker and makes things and if it's too perfect he smashes them and and he also loves meet it is his favorite thing and another episode that everyone in the Parks and Recreation Center goes on a hunting trip and one person shoots down his car and this is after Ron gets shot in the back of the head but it didn't hurt him all the sun the nurse and run out because she hears Donna screaming about how somethings her and Dennis how her car is like her because the windows broken and she's going to kill whoever did that it is hilarious I would not recommend watching this in class because you will laugh out loud if you watch his please let me know what you think of it what your favorite part is thanks Emily

Class Scheduling

Class scheduling is coming up and it is not going to be fun for next year, everything is changing for the upcoming year and they are adding classes to make everything confusing and they want to take away tutorials which is a time that students can go to other teachers room to get help with certain things like things they don’t understand, or they can redo quizzes, or tests, you could aso be in other teachers room eating with friends or socializing. You could also being doing homework in a teachers room the library or the cafeteria.  they want to have seven classes instead of six with an optional class in the morning which would make seven Snow everyone's time is going to be shut cut short and everyone's complaining about it because it is stupid and no one wants to do it it would also mean cutting our lunch which is usually an hour into a 25 minute lunch schedule where you can bill your time to eat food that you get it all so you can currently leave for lunch and then if you had the 25 minute lunch. You will not be able to leave Because by the time you got out of the lunch room you would be able to get back in because the school would already be over so for next year I have scheduled enough classes for the first semester so that I can. And then the next schedule I have will have to open classes this way I can have time for myself because the pastor years I've taken earlier class and just so I can be a head and now my counselor is telling me that I can't do that that it's going to be whatever comes out to be well this is not cool I have done it this way for a reason so for the past three years I've taken three early classes that my senior year I will I can let up and have more time to focus on classes and a job and extracurricular activities and now she's saying that I cannot have an afterschool online gym which would be A gym class that is online and then you login hours with the teacher on running and you basically do tests and stuff so I would be doing cross country to make up my running time and then I would do all of the tests and quizzes which would make up the gym she said that students with less classes can have more of a chance to do it than I do and I will have to take weightlifting in the morning I not doing that that's me going to weightlifting then school then to cost cross country I'm not doing that that is not what I'm going to do I'm not gonna workout school where I can like be even more dead and then more work out where in the afternoon I will fit because of exhaustion and I enough sleep I will already be having ours are con hours of homework at night I'm not going I had to me waking up even earlier just to go train because my school thinks I'm not done with gym I think that my school should be more aware of what is going on also with the whole you might not have it your choice of what goes where I don't care what order it goes in as long as I have a free period at the end of the day or sometime during the day of my choosing to where I can TA for a teacher because it is want to go if my T8 which means become a teacher's assistant and help teachers grade and all that type of stuff I want to do for math teacher named Mr. Johnson because I'm already in my second year of him and I think he really likes me and I would like to continue doing math because it is something I love to do and I think I would enjoy teaching and now my teacher saying that I cannot mean counselor so I am now rebelling against all counselors and think that they should spend more time with students because I barely talk to when I don't know what I'm going to do after high school I decided that I'm actually going to go to a college I just don't know what classes I'm a take my first year what's going to happen not one counsel has come up to any of the juniors and talk to them for lawn I don't even think the day that they checked in our student schedules that they were the real teacher counselors for the last name that there's a sign to this year I'm taking government Econ which are required classes AP calculus world humanities I'm not taking a language class because I dropped out of that this junior year because three teachers my freshman year and it was just not good I'm going to have to ask a lot of different people about what they're doing their freshman year I will also ask other people have gone through college on what classes they taken and what they recommend what did your school do for things llike this, how would you handle something like this happening.Do you think many students will get very far with this and achevie their goals in life and get into a good college this way by adding on another class and more homework at night. What do you think.  let me know if you were in college what has happened and what classes you took what happened to your year of high school what classes you took if your concillers helped you at all or if you were on your own or who helped you and how did you get through the year with no help. Grammys

Food

I love food. I can not live with out it oviusly. I have tried many different kinds of foods from fish eggs to pasta and desserts. I love fruit and desserts they are soo good and I love baking. My sister and I bake all of the time. She is way messier than me though. I keep my area tidy and neat. I love making my food look pretty before I eat. I love the way it looks. I also like to take pictures of it. I love making foods that have coffee in it also. My youngest sister Ella has also started baking too. Although he likes to cover everything with frosting from cakes to cookies which should not have frosting on it. And she puts it on the cookies when they are still warm so it slides off and is really messy. She is taking after the family. My broher Adam also bakes a few hings here and there too. One of my favorite snacks are oeros. I can’t live with out them. Let me know what types of food you like and if you bake with your family friends or by yourself. Thanks, Emily.

Books

In the book Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck, there are two named Crooks and Curly’s wife. They are both similar in many ways like they are both alone, they do not have any friends, and many people dislike them.

            Crooks and Cruly’s wife are both very lonely throughout the whole book. (P. 67-68) Crooks has never had anyone but Slim in his room. He has so many books to keep him occupied. Even Candy commented that he had never been in Crooks room. (P. 75) Curly’s wife also feels lonely. Confesses her loneliness to Lennie when they are in the barn. (P. 86-106)

            Crooks and Curly’s wife also does not have any friends. Crooks is black which makes the people stay away from him. When Lennie comes he doesn’t know how to respond to him because he doesn’t have any friends. When Crooks is talking about helping Lennie, George, and Candy on the farm and then all of the sudden at the end of the chapter Crooks dismisses the idea because he does not have any hope. (P. 76-83) Curly’s wife also doesn’t have any friends. George warns Lennie to not even talk to Curly’s wife. (P. 32-33) George said that she was bad news and for Lennie to not get into trouble with her otherwise he can’t tend to the rabbits. The other workers also stay away from he too because they do not want to be caught up in any trouble either, to later get fired. (P. 50-52)

            Crooks and Curly’s wife are both very disliked by many people. Crooks is disliked by everyone because he is black. When Curly’s wife goes into rooks room she bad mouths him right in front of him and she also threatens him, but he can’t do anything about it because he can get fired for talking back.(P. 80-81) The crew does include him when they are playing horse shoe toss games, but they are never happy about when he wins. (P. 44) Crooks is also treated like a slave. He has to get the workers their things that they want like when Slim asked him to get the tar for the horse (P. 50) He is not abused like a slave, but has to do extra things like one. Curly’s wife is also disliked. Throughout the whole book George tells Lennie to stay away from her because she is a tramp and Lennie will get into trouble if he does. (P. 32-33) This proves to be true because in the end Lennie accidentally breaks her neck all because he started talking to her in the barn and one thing lead to another and Lennie touched Culy’s wife’s hair. When Lennie didn’t let go Curly’s wife started squirming around and then all of the sudden Lennie broke Curly’s wife’s neck and then George had to shot Lennie for doing it.(P. 86-106) The other people also stay away from her because Curly would fire them or kill them if they found them talking to his wife. Curly’s wife has been found on any occasions to cause trouble and she is always trying to get other people into trouble. Curly is always looking for her but she is no here to be found and Curly’s wife is also always looking for Curly too, but Curly is also no were to be found. Curly’s wife also threatens Crooks. (P. 80-81) Curly’s wife is never nice to anyone which also does not help her get anyone to like her.

            In conclusion, even though you might not like someone doesn’t mean that you should treat them any differently than you would someone else because if Curly’s wife had someone to talk to she wouldn’t be trying to talk to anyone else and would probably keep to herself and if someone was nice to Crooks he would probably not of dismissed the idea about the farm and he could have had a few friends. Crooks and Curly’s wife are similar in many ways even though they do not like each other, they are both alone, they both do not have many friends, and they both are very disliked by many people.

Insects

I hate insects. I thinkg that they are discusting creatures and they all need to be killed. I don’t even know why they need to be on earth. They help no one. I think that only bees should be allowed because they help flowers grow. Other wise all other bugs should die including insects and spiders. Spiders are the worest even though they eat bugs they look scary and can bite you and they have eight eye which is also scary. Once my dad made me watch a spider movie about tranchalas and I have been scared ever since. Along with my sister Anna. If I see a spider I scream. Tell me if you like buds or not and why, what is the worst kind and what should be allowed to live. Let me know. Thank you Emily.

American Horror Story

American horror story is a great show him already on season four and I'm almost on and cannot wait till season five comes out on Netflix season one is about a hunted house and basically anyone who dies there get stuck there becomes a ghost there's some creepy people that are hunting house but after the whole family Guy it's a new family moves in and they scare meant to say them because they don't want bad things to happen in the next one is about an asylum where people are being tested on the cylon and it's very creepy It was one of the scariest one side Seagan I did not like it very much it was when the worst season ever the next season issue is that which color I liked that he's in the most because it wasn't as scary because I hate scary things and it was about basically they were down to four which is in this cold and they wanted to recruit new ones and so by the end of it they found like the most powerful which and then they broadcasted other which is on the real war world and pretty soon which is what showing up everywhere The one I'm currently on is about a circus it it's that always freaks that join the circus and there's some really scary ones like clowns and I mean it was scary if you don't like scary things then I wouldn't recommend American or story if you get scared really easily but I usually get scared really easily and I want these I cannot wait for the fifth season it like I said before and I'm so excited for that and honestly I wasn't scared at all I was maybe scared about one or two parts but that was it if you have seen this let me know what you thought it was what you favorite season was your favorite character you're here part who what you thought was best throughout all four seasons since the characters changing it different parts but are still the same casting him but me know if you have any recommendations of TV shows that I like this thanks Emily
